After a great week in Austin, I'm flying out tonight, just as Tropical Depression Erin is moving into town. (It appears that the storm is, thankfully, losing momentum.)
Speaking of momentum (like that cheesy segue?) as InnoTech draws nearer the excitement and momentum surrounding the event are building. Just this week, two new eMarketing Summit Sponsors have joined the fun: Bulldog Solutions and Datran Media. Also, recently, BSG Alliance and OnSite Austin joined the sponsors of the Austin CIO Summit. Then, Sam Coursen, Vice President & CIO, Freescale Semiconductor, confirmed at the keynote presenter for the CIO Summit.
Check back next week as I anticipate that many new presentations will be posted on the InnoTech Austin site throughout the rest of August (primarily the week of August 20-24).

Yeah, I know that still sounds like it's quite a ways away (I mean, most people haven't figured out what they're doing this weekend much less on a Thursday 10 weeks from now). But, it never fails to amaze me just how quickly it comes up. Since my last entry, more speakers and presentations have been added to the InnoTech Austin site, registrations continue to come in and new sponsors, BSG Alliance and INX have joined the program. This month you'll really see the website fill up as the presenters send in their abstracts so check back frequently and start planning for Thursday, October 11th now.

And they're not the only one to commit to the InnoTech Austin event within the past week. We're excited to welcome Ascendant Technology, Silver Sponsor, welcome back Eloqua, Texas eMarketing Summit Sponsor (for the 3rd year in a row!), and welcome Google, Coffee Service Sponsor.
Also within the past week, we've received our first online registrations for InnoTech and the two special events hosted at InnoTech: the Austin CIO Summit and the Texas eMarketing Summit. Want to register? Click here!

InnoTech Austin online registration officially opened on July 3, 2007 and, before we could get the word on the street, our first online registrant signed up a week later!
I guess I shouldn't be so surprised. On my latest trip to Austin last week, I met with the Advisory Council, as I always do, but this time, there was a palpable "buzz" in the room. The crew was genuinely excited about the event, about technology overall and especially about Austin's role in shaping the future. And we got so much done too...
Check out the eMarketing Summit page for this year's agenda entitled "Optimizing Your Online Marketing Strategy." The Austin CIO Summit agenda is also posted and features exciting topics such as SOA - A Management Level Conversation, Enterprise 2.0 and a featured presentation by Sam Coursen, Chief Information Officer, FreeScale Semiconductor.
The Corporate & Media Sponsors list is growing each week, which is great also.
Time to get back to the phone...more next week!

I'm looking forward to another trip to Austin next week, and, more specifically to meeting with the Advisory Council to finalize many of the presentations that will be featured at InnoTech this October.
Online registration opened this week and it's never too early to schedule your time at InnoTech.
Hope you all have a safe and fun 4th of July tomorrow...check back again as there will be many more updates on speakers, presentation titles, additional sponsors and exhibitors in the coming weeks.

June has been a really exciting month for sponsorships in Austin. Most recently, New Horizons Computer Learning Centers confirmed their return to the InnoTech event, this year as the Food Court & Happy Hour Reception Sponsor and Lumenate is our newest Bronze Sponsor. (Lumenate is also a Bronze Sponsor of the 2007 InnoTech Oklahoma event).
Although the event is still four months away, it's great to see so many sponsors committing early, really allowing enough time to plan and execute their involvement in InnoTech.
So, at this moment, there are three more sponsorships available at the 2007 InnoTech Austin event. Interested?

I'm sitting here creating a grid of the meeting rooms and potential topics for this year's InnoTech Austin event and am in a quandry. There is just too much good stuff. Too many hot topics (eMarketing, Open Source, the new Developers Track, CIO Summit and more) too many potential presenters and only so many sessions in a day. It's a nice problem to have but the challenge is to narrow it down to the most intriguing topics that will draw the best audience to the event. More on that as we make the final cuts in the coming weeks.
On another note, it's been a really good week for contacting exhibitors and sponsors. I'm excited to have Sun returning this year as a Silver Sponsor and to welcome Grande Communications as a Bronze Sponsor. (After a successful event last year, Sun has got some creative exhibit ideas in the works already for 2007, which is great).

I'm headed out to Austin next week and am looking foward to meeting with the 2007 InnoTech Austin Advisory Council face to face next Friday, April 6th. Although the event this fall (October 11, 2007), it's crucial that we get together now and begin finalizing the conference topics and presenters that we have been brainstorming and discussing since the conclusion of the last InnoTech Austin in November 2006. Once again, the event will host the highly successful eMarketing Summit and CIO Summit programs, the 10th Annual IT Executives of the Year Awards and the InnoTech Happy 45-Minutes (a networking tradition inside the Exhibit Hall!) And we're adding some cool new elements such as the Developer's Track, additional Open Source presentations and more! I'll keep you posted on the website and through this blog as the event draws nearer.

Although we've been planning since the doors closed on the 2006 InnoTech Austin event last November, the first face to face meeting of the 2007 InnoTech Austin Advisory Council is set to for Friday, April 5, 2007. As always, the energy, creativity and genuine interest in developing the best event possible that the Advisory Council brings to InnoTech is so exciting and I look forward to seeing them in a few short weeks.

The 2007 InnoTech Austin event date has been changed to Thursday, October 11, 2007. Recently, we heard of some other local events happening around the same time as InnoTech and, in an effort to make it easier for people to attend all of the programs instead of fighting for your attention, we have chosen to move one week earlier than originally planned. Same place (Austin Convention Center, Ballroom D), same focused, one day format, same great networking opportunities!
Along those same lines, the InnoTech Austin Advisory Council is already hard at work developing this year's outstanding line up of presentations, hot topics and proposed presenters. Our next Advisory Council meeting will take place the first week in April and I'm sure to have much more to report after that...

Me again and so soon after my last post...hmmm, I think the resolution to blog more is really working for me.
After three successful years of InnoTech events in Austin, it's really great to hear from our past exhibitors and sponsors so well in advance of the 2007 event. I just spoke with Amanda Nutt at CIBER and she had so many good ideas on how CIBER can be involved in InnoTech again this year. And, with so much time to implement their plan, without a doubt CIBER will have a strong event come this Fall. So, even though October seems so far into the future, it actually makes sense to start planning now.

Okay, I know it's been way too long since I made a post, no excuses, just focused on 2007 already! In fact, I just hung up the phone with Andres Carvallo, CIO, Austin Energy and Chairperson, InnoTech Austin 2007 and it's amazing how many fresh ideas, insights for improvement and raw enthusiasm he brings to the event. Even though InnoTech is 10 months away (Thursday, October 18, 2007) we are already in the process of selecting the 2007 InnoTech Advisory Council, are pursuing some exciting new program elements (more on these soon...) and are choosing exhibitors and sponsors for the 2007 program as well.
After an exciting, well attended 2006 event this past November, it's easy to be excited about what's in store for 2007, including a New Year's Resolution to blog more often.

I just got off the phone with the Microsoft team and all are very excited about their participation in this year's event. We talked about the Microsoft Partner Pavilion, featuring 15 Microsoft partners on the event floor, the six Microsoft Theater presentations (that are coming together and will be posted around September 22nd). Cool stuff...

With exactly three months remaining before the 3rd annual InnoTech Austin event on November 2nd, we are thrilled to welcome three new sponsors to the program. Guidelight Business Solutions, Gold Sponsor, Dell, Bronze Sponsor and DCS-Dynamic Computing Services Corporation, Official Bag Sponsor have all joined this year's event recently.

The Austin InnoTech announces IBM Texas Employees Federal Credit Union as the 2006 event title sponsor. After an outstanding program last year as the registration sponsor at the 2005 Austin InnoTech, IBMTEFCU has been named as the 2006 event title sponsor.
